Who is Eric?
Eric Usher is a serial entrepreneur and business consultant with a passion for leveraging his professional experiences to serve the greater good. From insurance, to entertainment to technology, Eric’s zeal for variety and fresh challenges has allowed him to grow several businesses and ventures in various industries through consistently delivering high-yield results.
A native New Yorker, Eric was raised in the bustling metropolis of Queens. There, he was exposed to a multitude of cultures, lifestyles and experiences, that helped shape his worldview. He and his family then relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in the mid-1990s, where he spent his formative years, going on to attend Albany State and Clayton State Universities. Eric assumed several collegiate leadership roles, in the theatre program as well as in Greek life, serving as a founding member and first president of the Clayton State University chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated.
In 2005, Eric began his post-collegiate career in insurance management. His first venture was as a sub-agent for SBIK Insurance in Georgia. After a short time, Eric became the firm’s top salesman, and was quickly promoted to Sales trainer. This led to Eric receiving full licensure as a Life and Health Insurance agent and being named partner within the firm. From there, Eric relocated to Houston Texas, to open a partner agency - Premier Investors LLC. Shortly thereafter, Eric received his certification as a Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance agent and purchased a fledgling P&C agency in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
After years of success in insurance management, Eric transitioned to more creative, entrepreneurial pursuits in 2009, with the launch of entertainment management firm, Ush Productions, an Event Planning and Production company. Ush Productions was an exciting foray into the multi-faceted world of entertainment, where Eric oversaw numerous high profile celebrity events and entertainment ventures, honing his skills as a business consultant and sales and marketing management leader.
Today Eric serves as the CEO of Prophytes, a social networking application for Greek-Letter Fraternity and Sorority Members nationwide, and the Vice President of Development for Electric Republic, a leading Independent film & management company. Given his vast and varied career trajectory, Eric is passionate about helping young adults learn the lessons of enjoying success as it comes while also accepting failures as necessary for personal and professional growth and development. He has channeled this passion into a career as a published author and public speaker, with his first book, Pledging For Success, about the lessons learned as a member of a fraternal organization and their applicability in life and business.
